Neal Smith, PE (President and Owner)
President and founder of Neal Smith Engineering, Inc. Mr. Smith has both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Civil
Engineering from Clemson University. He is a Professional Engineer in multiple states and has over twenty years of
engineering experience. Mr. Smith manages all aspects of the company.

Bryan Welborn, SI (Project Manager - Civil Department)
Mr. Welborn is a Land Surveyor Intern in North Carolina. He has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in both Civil
Engineering Technology and Land Surveying Technology from Sandhills Community College. He has multipule years of
surveying and engineering experience on various types of land development projects.

Bryan Bowles (Project Manager - Structural Department)
Mr. Bowles has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Architectural Technology and a Certificate in Architectural
CAD Specialty from Sandhills Community College. Mr. Bowles has worked for NSE for more than fifteen years in the
building planning and design department. This department consists of building layouts (code reviews, floor plans and
elevations), structural design and detailing, and structural/code field inspections of residential and commercial projects.
His prior experience includes three years of land surveying and planning.

Sue Howard (Department Manager - MEP Department)
Mrs. Howard has studied engineering at Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University. Mrs. Howard has
worked for NSE for more than seven years in the plumbing (P), mechanical (M) and electrical (E) design department. This
department consists of PME layouts, design, detailing, and field inspections of residential and commercial projects. Her
prior experience includes more than twenty-nine years of electrical design, planning and inspections. This gives Mrs.
Howard a combined thirty-four years of experience in the design industry.

Lindy Whisenand (Office Manager)
Ms. Whisenand has studied Computer Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering at Sandhills Community
College. Ms. Whisenand handles accounts receivable, accounts payable and supports the operations of the company.
